Music Venues in Swansea

Swansea's music venues may seem intimate, or rich in cultural history, but that doesn't mean they don't pack a performance. Whether you feel like sitting for a classical symphony or staying up until the early hours living the student life in a club, Swansea's music scene has a lot to offer, why not check it out - after all, there's nothing better than an evening of live music.

The Garage Venue is located in Uplands in the heart of Swansea and prides itself on a back-to-basics approach to live music, one based on a solid sound system, and a rocking atmosphere. With their cheap event prices and even cheaper drinks deals, you will be hard-pushed to find a more economical evening's entertainment in Swansea, while the steady stream of exciting acts means you get quality as well as quantity. The Garage hosts numerous tribute acts, so if you didn't manage to see Oasis, the Smiths or Queen the first time around, perhaps you'd consider heading down and catching the next best thing. The venue is also available for hire at a reasonable rate, so if you feel like hosting your very own night, get in touch.

Sin City Club is Swansea's prime location if you don't want a live band but you want to get your dancing shoes on into the early hours. Featuring everything from Hip-Hop royalty Grandmaster Flash to a Rock and Metal night, if you choose your night wisely you are sure to not be disappointed. If you happen to be a student in Swansea, Sin City offers discounted entry with an NUS card, so be sure to get yourself to its Thursday Student Night, or if you aren't in the clutches of higher education, why not try out the regular Silent Disco night for something unusual but undoubtedly fun.

Brangwyn Hall is a prime venue if you are looking for something a bit more high-culture, with its famous panels (originally designed for the House of Lords) surrounding a popular classical music concert hall. Inaugurated in 1934, Brangwyn Hall has performed a strong communitarian and civic function but is perhaps best known for the strong live performances it plays host to. Don't think it is just for classical music though, new-folk hero Frank Turner has graced the stage, as well as Newton Faulkner in past years. If the nightclub scene and the intimate gig atmosphere don't take your fancy, why not try Brangwyn Hall for something a little more relaxed?
